The tracks for private tests of every MotoGP manufacturer in 2023

MotoGP regulations allow for limited private testing throughout the year – one such limitation being the pre-designation of tracks to do so.

Each manufacturer must name three different circuits, which can be any of those that make up the Grand Prix calendar. According to the GPOne.com website, the five manufacturers have included the Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto in their plans, while Misano wasn’t chosen by Yamaha… deciding to go to Mugello.

The home of Iwata and Honda were the only ones to designate a non-european track, as they will have Motegi (Japan) as one of their test circuits. The Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia (Aprilia and KTM) and Mugello (Ducati and Yamaha) were the other tracks chosen by more than one team.

It should be noted that this year’s test days will require different management than in 2022, as only 200 tires can be used in tests throughout the year (instead of 240 as until last season).

Each MotoGP manufacturer’s test circuits for 2023:

  • Aprilia: Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto, Circuito Ricardo Tormo and Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli
  • Ducati: Autodromo Internazionale di Mugello, Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto and Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli
  • Honda: Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto, Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and Twin Ring Motegi
  • KTM: Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto, Circuito Ricardo Tormo and Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli
  • Yamaha: Autodromo Internazionale di Mugello, Circuito de Jerez Angel Nieto and Twin Ring Motegi
