‘The team was focused on Pedrosa and out of nowhere a Moto2 kid shows up…’ – Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa shared the Repsol Honda Team garage for six seasons, between 2013 and 2018. Their relationship changed over time, starting less well and ending better.

This was said by Marc Marquez in his documentary series All In, available on Amazon Prime:

– Dani and I get along well, he’s an excellent person. But in 2013 and 2014 there was a lot of tension between us. He was king, number one, the most listened to person in the garage. Everyone expected something from him, and the team was focused on him. And out of nowhere a kid showas up who is having his first year in the category coming from Moto2. Right in the first race… boom [podium]! On monday….boom [pole and victory]! This turns out to be hard to swallow. From 2015, 2016, things calmed down and we started to have a normal relationship between teammates. I think after a while you learn to accept the situation. These are things that happen and will certainly happen to me too.
