KTM was in tests at the Sepang International Circuit and had four of its riders, including Pol Espargaro and Augusto Fernandez, who wear the GASGAS colors. Speaking to motogp.com, Francesco Guidotti confirmed that the RC16 lacks a few tenths to be more competitive.

Asked why the bike is missing these tenths, the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team Manager began by highlighting the role of aerodynamics in the current competitiveness of the austrian bike:

– [Laughs] It would be good to know. The aerodynamic package helped a lot; the engine has some question marks, but we have the data and can work on it. As always it’s a package deal, a compromise between everything. We are also trying to adjust the riding style to find something better, but we are very confident and satisfied with the work. We are looking forward to the next test.
