Salmon does contain a decent amount of fat however, it is high in unsaturated fats such as omega 3 that play an essential role in heart health and inflammation control. This makes salmon good for your health. If consumed in excess to the point where salmon is causing you to overconsume calories, salmon will result in weight gain; however this is true for any food.

It is totally safe to eat salmon fish, and would not be fattening or dangerous to the health if eaten in small quantities daily. Salmon fish is a good source of essential amino acids which is needed in the body to build tissues and repair worn out ones, amongst other functions of protein. Salmon is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids which are heart-friendly and are good for the brain. However, it generally recommended not to excessively consume seafoods, especially those containing mercury such as salmon. Therefore, moderation is advised.
