Liverpool could accept a bid for Mo Salah in the summer transfer window, while Real Madrid have reportedly made contact with Jurgen Klopp as they look to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
KLOPP OFF?
Real Madrid have made contact with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as they look to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the summer, according to reports in Spain.
The Reds, who play Everton in the Merseyside derby on Monday, are having a terrible season with Klopp’s side winning just eight of their 20 Premier League matches as they sit tenth in the table. There have been numerous reasons why there has been such a big drop off from last campaign but Klopp has come in for some criticism.
And now Spanish newspaper Nacional claim Klopp ‘may be living out his final months as Liverpool manager’ and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has spotted an ‘incredible opportunity’ to bring the German to the Bernabeu.
Despite still having time left on his contract, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti could leave in the summer depending on how they finish the season. Los Blancos are currently second in the La Liga table, eight points adrift of leaders Barcelona, and ‘if they don’t win any trophies’ then Ancelotti could be out of work.
There has been ‘some contact’ between Perez and Liverpool boss Klopp with the German outlining his ‘financial’ demands, while he ‘would also request the arrival of several galactic reinforcements’, including Jude Bellingham.
The report adds that ‘another player who has been requested by Klopp is Kylian Mbappe’ with the Liverpool boss believing that Real Madrid are lacking ‘a player capable of making the difference in attack’.
SALAH TO LEAD OVERHAUL?
Liverpool could sell Mo Salah in the summer transfer market as they look to overhaul their squad, according to reports.
A number of players have been underperforming and Football Insider insist that Salah ‘is the one Liverpool superstar the club may be willing to sell this summer who could secure a huge fee’.
The Egypt international has scored seven Premier League goals in 20 matches this season with Salah suffering as the team fail to hit the high standards of the past few years.
And now Liverpool are ‘planning a major overhaul on the back of a calamitous campaign’ with the report adding that ‘a series of expensive new signings are out of the question without one or two big-name sales’.
Similar to how Darwin Nunez arrived after Liverpool sold Sadio Mane, the report claims that the Reds plan to sell one key asset to fund other transfers.
Football Insider continue: ‘The number of Liverpool players worth £50million-plus is a small group and would most likely only include Salah, Luis Diaz, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson and Nunez.’
