Blackberries are packed with Vitamin C which can boost immune system, manganese, which is a mineral that helps to regulate blood sugar levels, antibacterial properties which can help to prevent tooth infections and vitamin E, which promote skin protection. On the other hand, blueberries are high in vitamin B6, which supports nervous systems and vitamin K, which promotes blood clot. However, blackberries are high in fibre, which can create bloating and abdominal pain. There is a lack of scientific literature about which berry is healthier but in my opinion blackberries when consumed in low quantities can be more beneficial for your body in comparison with blueberries.

Although we see these two berries are very similar to each other from the point of nutrition, vitamins and antioxidants, blackberries contain more vitamin C and less carbohydrates and sugars, while blueberries are better when it comes to vitamin B1, B5, B6.

Blackberries contain more vitamin C and less carbohydrates compared to blueberries. However, blueberries are a better choice if you want to improve your vitamin B1, B5 and B6 intake. Both berries have their own benefits as blackberries are great for digestion whereas blueberries are a great source of antioxidants. So it’s a good idea to eat both of these humble berries to reap the health benefits.
